Jonathan Price was Trump Supporter Who Loved White Women...But The Police Still Took Him OUT

WOLFE CITY, Texas (KXII) - A Wolfe City police officer has been arrested for murder after shooting and killing a man whose family says he was trying to break up a fight. Police have not released any details or the name of the deceased, but family members said the victim was Johnathan Price, 31, of Wolfe City. The family’s attorney, civil rights lawyer Lee Merritts, said they have not been able to get any information from the police. Merritt said witnesses told him Price was intervening in a domestic dispute at the Kwik Chek gas station in Wolfe City Saturday night. “When police arrived, I’m told, he raised his hands and attempted to explain what was going on,” Merritt posted on Facebook. “Police fired tasers at him and when his body convulsed from the electrical current, they “perceived a threat” and shot him to death.” Wolfe City police have not responded to requests for information, but the city confirmed the officer involved has been placed on administrative leave. On Monday, Officer Shaun David Lucas was arrested for murder. “Right now, everything that we’ve heard is based on rumor and innuendo. We want to see a copy of the video. We want to see the official police reporters, which we haven’t seen yet. We want the officer officially named, identified and arrested. OF course, he should be fired, but that should be the least of his concerns. He should be arrested as quickly as possible and indicted on charges of murder,” Merritt said at a press conference Monday afternoon. Merritt also said Price was known as a hometown hero, motivational speaker, trainer, professional athlete and community advocate. Former professional baseball player Will Middlebrooks posted a video on Facebook, saying the two grew up together in Wolfe City. “Most people in that town are behind Johnathan and everything he was about and who he is and who he was as a person,” Middlebrooks said. As of Monday morning, a GoFundMe Middlebrooks organized for Price’s family had surpassed its original goal of $50,000. “I pray justice will be served soon, and I pray that this is handled correctly,” Middlebrooks said. “Stay strong, stand next to each other and hope and pray for justice for Johnathan.” The Texas Rangers are investigating. As of Monday morning, no additional details have been released and the Wolfe City Police Department has not responded to requests for information. Members of the community came together Monday night for a march and vigil calling for the arrest of the officer.
