What Black Men Can Learn From Dalvin Cook's Situation With His Ex GF Gracelyn Trimble

Minnesota Vikings star Dalvin Cook has been sued for alleged assault, battery and false imprisonment by his former girlfriend, whom he accuses of breaking into his house, macing him, and holding him and his guests at gunpoint for 'hours.' Cook's attorney, David Valentini, said in a statement that the woman, 29-year-old US Army sergeant Gracelyn Trimble, has been trying to settle her claim for 'millions of dollars.' Trimble's lawsuit, obtained by DailyMail.com, includes photographs of injuries she allegedly suffered during the altercation in November of 2020, when Cook allegedly gave her a concussion. Photographs in the filing show Trimble wearing a bloody t-shirt with cuts and bruises to her face, head and arm. The filing also includes a text message in which Cook appears to apologize to her for the attack. Cook spoke to reporters after Wednesday's practice, saying he plans on playing Sunday against the Chargers in Los Angeles and claiming to be the victim in the case. 'I just want everybody to know I'm the victim in the situation,' Cook said. 'The truth and the details about the situation will come out at a further time. 'I got my head up high knowing that the truth will come out,' the 26-year-old continued. 'I hate being a distraction to the team, but I know those guys have my back 1,000 percent and just going to take this thing day by day and I know my team's here for me and I'm here for them.' The NFL has not announced any plans to suspend Cook.
