I was like, ‘This is me, Lord. I did everything that I could do to the best of my ability. I don’t understand why I did all these things, and then this is my end result.'” She added that the pair also did not split because of her reluctance to have children. Or because either one of them engaged in “malicious” activity. Meagan Good Revealed That She Questioned Giving Celibacy Another Try Additionally, the 41-year-old revealed that she actually contemplated giving celibacy a second try — something that she and Franklin published a book about, The Wait: A Powerful Practice for Finding the Love of Your Life and the Life You Love. According to a 2016 article published by NBC News, Franklin felt celibacy taught him the power of discipline and Good credited the practice for giving her “needed time to heal.” After the divorce, Good admitted that she “struggled” with the thought of giving celibacy a second try. “I struggled with that. I was like, ‘I don’t know if I should be celibate now. I don’t know what I should do.’ I even was at a point early on when I felt, obviously, I still believe in Jesus, but I’m not sure what to believe about anything else anymore.” The Couple’s Divorce Was Finalized 7 Days After Their 10-Year Wedding Anniversary According to Essence, Good and Franklin’s divorce was finalized on June 23, 2022. The milestone occurred just seven days after their 10-year wedding anniversary. During the interview, Good opened up about how the split affected her faith.
