The Freaknik Documentary Has Older Black Women SCARED FOR THIS REASON!

An upcoming Hulu documentary about Atlanta's 1994 Freaknik Festival has left some Gen Xers terrified that NSFW footage of them at the celebration is about to resurface. Variety confirmed last week that a brand new movie about the event, entitled Freaknik: The Wildest Party Never Told, is in the works - but the announcement resulted in quite the uproar online. Many people who attended the rager throughout the '90s are now worried that videos of them doing something risqué may pop up in the doc. Freaknik was a yearly party held in Georgia during spring break. It began in 1983 as a small picnic hosted by the DC Metro Club - but by the '90s it had become one of the biggest events in the southern state. It was mostly attended by college students who were celebrating the break from school. Branded as Atlanta's most infamous street party, the week-long festival saw attendees dancing, singing, and partying with one another through the streets of Atlanta. The doc is set to 'recount the rise and fall of a small Atlanta HBCU picnic that exploded into an influential street party and spotlighted ATL as a major cultural stage,' Variety reported. It's believed that it will specifically focus on the biggest Freaknik, which occurred in 1994, and will premiere in April 2024 in honor of the 40-year anniversary. Many people who were at the party have taken to social media to voice their fears. 'Y'all, I don't know, we might be in trouble. Did y'all see Hulu is about to release a documentary about '94 Freaknik?' one TikToker, named Tina, said in a video shared over the weekend. 'I've been to several Freakniks, '94 was one I attended. I'm just praying that Jesus be a fence. I'm praying that Jesus be a big, tall, privacy fence. That's my prayer this Easter.'
