A friend in Rachel Lindsay's corner is offering an update on the former Bachelorette after the news that her husband Bryan Abasolo filed for divorce. Abasolo, 43, who met Lindsay, 38, on her season of the dating show and married her in 2019, filed for divorce on Tuesday, citing “irreconcilable differences” and listing their date of separation as Dec. 31, according to documents obtained by PEOPLE. On Wednesday, Justin Sylvester gave Bachelor Nation an update on how the lawyer is doing on Today with Hoda & Jenna. “She’s taking it day by day,” Sylvester shared. “I talked to her this morning. She’s just trying to pick up the pieces. She’s in survival mode.” The E! News host also offered a reaction to the statement that Abasolo released just hours after the divorce filing went public, as he said “it was weird and kind of telling” given that Lindsay is “super private about her personal life.” The couple has largely kept their relationship out of the spotlight in the six years since their engagement. “But if everybody just gives her her privacy right now, I know that when she’s ready to talk, she will have a lot to say,” Sylvester concluded.
